A return to form for Saints in February. Nigel Adkins's men secured three wins and two draws from five league matches. The only defeat of the month came in the FA Cup replay against Millwall, where several regulars were missing. Saints improved considerably in defence, especially when Jose Fonte and Jos Hooiveld returned to fitness. The pair had both missed matches in January through injury. Saints conceded just a single league goal in February, and that was from a disputed penalty at West Ham. Last month also saw the emergence of Tadanari Lee, who already looks like a potential star in the making. February's player of the month goes to someone who keeps getting better and better however, and that's Morgan Schneiderlin. It's hard to believe the Frenchman is only 22. It seems like he's been around forever, and he already possess the intelligence and ability to go on to greater things. Schneiderlin has always been a useful player at St Marys, even in the club's disastrous 2008/09 relegation season. He's made steady progress ever since, and is now the complete package. Schneiderlin has a fantastic range of passing, and is an expert and reading the game and setting the pace. He can tackle and has even improved in front of goal recently. Schneiderlin has been given greater license to get forward and express himself this season. He probably won't be in the mix-up when it comes to player of the season voting, but he should be. He's been absolutely key to our success this campaign, particularly in recent months. Schneiderlin is an absolute talent, and we should be ever so grateful that he is here playing for us.
