Jordan Robertson is an English centre forward who was born in Sheffield on 12th February 1988. Robertson began his career with hometown club Sheffield United, but made his professional debut on 18th November 2006 while on loan at League 2 outfit Torquay. He scored his first ever goal his second appearance for The Gulls. Robertson went on to play 11 times for The Plainmoor club until his loan expired in January. He joined Northampton on loan in January 2007, and scored on his Cobblers debut on 28th January against Oldham. Robertson scored 7 goals during 2006/07.
Robertson joined Dundee United in August 2007 on loan until January. He scored on his debut for the Scottish club on 29th August 2007 in a 2-1 win over Ross County. He added three more goals to his tally before returning to Sheffield United. Robertson also had a short three match spell on loan at Oldham later in the season, and scored his only goal for the club on 1st March 2008 in a 3-0 win at Port Vale.
On September 23rd 2008 Robertson made his Sheffield United debut in a 6-0 League Cup defeat at Arsenal. Days later the striker was loaned to Southampton. Robertson made a dream start to his St Marys career, scoring one of the goals of the season just 29 minutes into his debut against Norwich. Unfortunately that was as good as it got for the Sheffield United loan man, who failed to find the net again in his next 9 matches for Saints, before returning to Bramall Lane in December 2008.
On 25th December 2008 Robertson was involved in a fatal car crash. After attempting to change a song on his iPod, the Sheffield United striker became distracted and crashed his Mercedes CLC 180 sports car on the southbound carriageway of the M1, smashing into a Ford Galaxy owned by father of five Omar Mohamed. Mohamed died from his injuries the next day. On 2nd October 2009 Robertson was jailed for 32 months after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. Prior to his sentencing, Robertson had short loan spells with Ferencvaros and Bury.
Robertson was released from prison in early 2011, and joined former club Dundee United for an unsuccessful trial. He signed for St Johnstone on 31st March 2011, and made his return to football two days later in 0-0 draw with Kilmarnock.
On 7th June 2011 Robertson signed a one year deal with Scunthorpe United.
